Asuncion, Davao del Norte  captured using HPT on  August 17, 2016 at 9:49:40 PHT.

Davao del Norte is a province geographically located in the Davao Region of Mindanao. Known as the Banana Capital of the Philippines, this province produces approximately 1.08 million metric tons of bananas annually. Aside from bananas, the province also produces 118,000 metric tons of rice per year.

Capable of capturing consecutive true-color images, Diwata-1 HPT took snapshots of these two image scenes showing the vast agricultural areas of rice intercropped with banana plantations in the municipality of Asuncion in Davao del Norte. A portion of the meandering Magdao River, which provides water needed by the province for agricultural purposes, can also be observed in the first scene, while residential areas and road networks traversing the agricultural areas are evident in the second scene.
